The center of the city: it corresponds to Piazza del Campo which turns into a competition arena on two occasions, on July 2nd and August 16th, when the districts of the city compete in the very famous Palio di Siena. Also on this square is the Palazzo Pubblico and the equally known Torre del Mangia, which is nothing but the municipal municipal tower, with bells, which marked the rhythms of everyday life in the past. On one side of the square is the Fonte Gaia, a monumental fountain.
Do not forget to visit the Cathedral of the city, on whose façade some details in gold and the Baptistery of S. Giovanni are inserted. For lovers of good food, Siena offers excellent ribollita, followed by slices of arista and a side dish of small beans and finally Panpepato and Ricciardelli, all accompanied by exquisite Tuscan wine … and then … the bill, please! ?!
