Despite a history of 8000 years, the city has a recent name, which was attributed to it in 1928, after having been known for a good period as Monteleone. Overlooking one of the most enchanting views of the Italian peninsula, Vibo Valentia is part of the so-called “Costa degli Dei”. It boasts a long history of Neolithic settlements, Greek domination – the city was then called Hipponion – and then Roman. The Normans settled there in the late Middle Ages and left traces of their passage in the Fortress, which can still be visited today. Don’t miss a day out in the beautiful Botanical Park with the whole family! The city center will entertain you with its culinary delicacies, modern buildings, shopping streets and much more!
